ATELIER ONE SHAPE
An innovating shipyard
Innovation and environmental performance
In the spring of 2023, we launched the construction of our new shipyard, the Atelier One Shape, next to the cargo port of La Pallice. This 3,800 m² building, located on a 16,000 m² plot of land, will house the production of 8 to 10 giant multihulls each year. This project demonstrates our commitment to combining innovation and environmental performance.
Our offices, integrated into this space, offer optimum comfort thanks to eco-friendly materials and a design aimed at improving well-being and energy efficiency.
OPTIMIZED SYNERGY AND RESPONSIVENESS
On-site design office
On-site collaboration and project monitoring
At Atelier One Shape, our 27-strong team of passionate Yacht Concept designers is based directly on site. This proximity enables us to guarantee optimum synergy between design and construction, and to provide innovative technical solutions in real time. Our presence within the shipyard enables us to follow each stage of the project with greater responsiveness, while ensuring perfect coordination between the technical teams and other trades. This guarantees maximum flexibility, while meeting our customers’ deadlines and expectations.
A bright, comfortable environment
Designed to encourage innovation and collaboration
The space dedicated to our design office in the Atelier One Shape has been designed to encourage innovation and efficiency. It offers a bright, comfortable environment that encourages collaboration and creativity. Visual comfort is optimized thanks to a high percentage of natural openings that allow abundant light throughout the day. We also took into account the building’s orientation to optimize sun exposure according to the season, thus reducing periods of discomfort. Today, thanks to the use of wood fiber and the optimized design of the workshop, we experience only 66 hours of discomfort per year.
AN ECO-RESPONSIBLE, HIGH-PERFORMANCE WORKING ENVIRONMENT
A pleasant, energy-efficient workspace
Innovative thermal management
We also benefit from exceptional thermal management thanks to innovative solutions such as geothermal energy. Water conveys calories from the ground via heat exchangers, transforming them into heat. This system operates on a closed circuit, with no additional energy consumption, reducing the temperature difference between the inside and outside of the building. Adjustable sunshades and opening skylights regulate heat naturally, without the need for air conditioning, making our workspace a pleasant, energy-efficient place.
Low environmental impact
Sustainable materials for minimal environmental impact
The choice of materials was also made with the environment in mind. We use French wood, natural rubber flooring and materials such as Fermacell, clay and environmentally-friendly plywood, all manufactured sustainably. What’s more, the algae paint designed and manufactured in Brittany is part of this eco-responsible approach. Every element of our design aims to minimize the ecological footprint of our workspace while maximizing energy efficiency.
In this way, we create a low-impact environment while supporting a sustainable future.
A POSITIVE-ENERGY, LOW-CARBON SHIPYARD
A model of sustainability
Innovation and sustainability at the heart of the project
The Yacht Concept design office and Chantier de l’Arsenal are at the heart of the creation of Atelier One Shape, an ambitious project designed to combine technological innovation with respect for the environment. The 3,800 m² building, designed on a 16,000 m² site, is a model of sustainability. By choosing bio-sourced materials such as French wood and wood fiber, and integrating ecological technologies such as geothermal energy and photovoltaic panels, Atelier One Shape far exceeds environmental standards. This project is fully in line with the “La Rochelle Territoire Zéro Carbone” objective for 2040.
A key player in the naval sector
A green growth engine
In addition to its ecological performance, the Atelier One Shape represents a real growth lever for Chantier de l’Arsenal. It considerably increases the company’s manufacturing capacity for composite parts, thanks to two 25-meter flat molds. This modern building supports the local economy by creating jobs and reinforcing the role of the La Rochelle region in shipbuilding. Atelier One Shape embodies a vision of a sustainable future, where innovation and respect for the environment come together.
A strategic location
Next to the Port Atlantique La Rochelle – La Pallice
The location of our new workshop has been carefully considered to maximize its accessibility and potential. Indeed, with our location close to the port of La Pallice, we have direct access to the launching docks, optimizing the logistics of our operations. Our shipyard extends over a vast, well-positioned plot of land, ideal for the development of our future projects.
